Golf Course Design and Management

In recent years we have participated with increasing frequency in the development and support of "Citizen Environmental Responsibility Committees" which work with developers to design, implement, and monitor projects that are sensitive to environmental concerns. In the past five years we have worked on nearly a dozen golf course projects to help protect wetlands, evaluate impacts to ground and surface water quality and quantity, manage and mitigate storm water impacts, develop turf and pest management plans, and respond to other issues associated with site-specific conditions.

Our role is that of an independent facilitator and consultant; we can offer professional, scientifically sound guidance and critique of concerns and mitigation plans; help with evaluation and assessment of implementation, and assure that corrections are made when necessary. Developers have found that the process results in more efficient operations that quickly respond to genuine concerns in a practical and economically sound manner; communities have found that legitimate concerns are honestly addressed, and the regulation and enforcement can be streamlined for maximum affect. Ultimately the process assures that management plans are fully implemented; are corrected when necessary, and are continuously evaluated for efficiency and cost-benefit.
