Who is AWRL?
AWRL is a corporation located in Northern Minnesota.
Founded in 1972 as a water testing laboratory, AWRL has expanded to a fully automated analytical laboratory with two one-of-a-kind remote sensing aircraft’s, advanced remote sensing technology, and remote sensing data collection technology compatible with all GIS applications. Top computer modeling programs which encapsulate laboratory, remote sensing, and field data into action plans for management on lakes, rivers, and streams.
Why AWRL?
AWRL has a staff that consists of limnologists, biologists, wetland scientists, land use planners, chemists, and remote sensing experts. This combined perspective of looking at environmental issue from both chemical and aerial points of view identifies solutions that would otherwise go unnoticed
AWRL has over 35 years of experience working directly with lake associations, watershed districts, local units of government and national governments on action oriented projects that achieve environmental progress. These programs lead to management initiatives specific to the lake and watershed function.
Innovation has always played a key role in the projects we have completed. Due to the increasing complexity of data collection; analysis, and evaluation, we do not limit our search for solutions to out-dated methodologies—we aggressively seek applications of the latest technology.
